Dell’agonia del kendo femminile italiano
“E il poverin, che non se n’era accorto,
ancora combatteva ed era morto”
Torquato Tasso, Gerusalemme Liberata, Atto IV°, cap. XVII.
Come un amico mi ha fatto notare, e' da un po' che non faccio molto sul Women's Kendo Blog. After Athens, in fact, the dish cries. Unfortunately I just learned that the seminar Sato Rie held for ten years and Witten 'has been canceled due to health reasons of the teacher Sato (who has however promised to return as soon as you will' re-established, taking as sensei Horiba aide-luxury). I still bite my hands to be able to go to the master's seminar in Rickmansworth Sumi: Fujita sensei, my model, a female kendo dream, was present and held a seminar for girls (and more) - I am crying heart at the thought.
So in a moment of horror vacui, I'm interested in thoughts on women in general kendo.
Kate Sylvester, who works with Kendo World, a member of the Australian women's team, I asked some time ago as the practice of women in Europe. I retrieved the numbers of kendo Italian, Dutch and Greek, just to be on the fields they know.
The results were frightening - not so much for Italy, but for all three countries, very different history and context. If women have a rate between 14 and 20 percent of the population practicing (and already 'This speaks volumes about the acceptance of the Kendo world toward women), the yudansha are between 3 and 5 per cent of practitioners, when among men the percentage of total stood between 27 and 45 per cent. Not just a few, but quality 'natural fiber. Research and
Rokudan: 3
Godan: 6
Yondan: 8
Sandan: 14
Nidan: 22
Shodan: 20
What worries have ridiculous numbers of degrees lower - the extinction starts like this, with the low birth rate. It does not take a PhD in biology to understand that we are becoming a race to be protected.
And then? At this point you might look for accountability, in perfect Italian vein.
is to blame for women's kendo? And when they have never had a say in the expansionary policies of the CIK?
of the Technical Committee is to blame? But if it deals with the National, already able to do so - and at the National will pay for this situation right on the day after the World Novara, having reached retirement age.
E 'definitely guilty of Company, then: in the country of showgirls, if you can be sure not to ruin your nail lacquer, you're nobody, perhaps?
if it's the fault of society, those with a lowercase letter, the dojo? Someone has ever bothered to understand why some are more dojo to other women? Clubs because they had wonderful groups of female practitioners have squandered the wealth in a few seasons?
I have no definite answers to offer, although I have opinions, to which all are entitled - of course I'd like to see that the applications were considered and that at least something concrete to the study and implementation. The shares rose in Kendo, there are already in a sense. We only hope to be able to reach them in a not too distant future.
PS: This post is a provocation, if anyone had a doubt and if nobody picks it up, well, maybe the agony is beautiful from over. RIP
